Make 2010 a colourful year!
We have been so pleased with our Ricoh colour multifunction copier from IKON over the past year, we thought all of our members should be able to have the same equipment in their offices, and we have approached IKON to develop a supply agreement for the exclusive use of our members.

2010 Assembly Conference in Richmond |

The Conference for 2010 will be held April 30-May 2 in Richmond at the Vancouver Airport Marriot Hotel.

In November 2009, the Assembly's Board of Directors and the Executive Director met in Richmond for our annual strategic planning meeting. As you can imagine, much of our discussion was centred on the current and future funding cuts to the arts in BC.

The Assembly is looking for young people to take over as youth representatives from Ali Richmond and Liz Park. Ideal candidates are young people with a passion for community arts and an interest in fighting for arts and culture at a provincial level. Deadline for nominatin for 2010 is March 31, 2010.

Thanks to renewed project funding from BC Arts Council, the Assembly and ArtStarts in Schools will once again be providing provincial-level support for organizations and schools wanting to celebrate Arts and Culture Week during the week of April 18-24, 2010.

Tears trickled down her face as she listened to her old friend sing a song in Gitxsenimx, her traditional language, her first language. The two elderly ladies sat over a cup of tea at my kitchen table on an early fall day in Victoria, reminiscing of the days back in their community in North Western BC.

This new and province-wide initiative will concentrate on raising public awareness and spreading the word about arts engagement and activity. By collecting information, stories, and photographs, AABC will keep the public, the press, and elected officials aware of the vitality and importance of the arts in British Columbia.
