Many of us tend to think of our funders as being the large foundations, government agencies and corporations that give correspondingly large (often one-time) grants. But, although this varies somewhat from organization to organization, about 80% of charitable giving in Canada still comes from individuals, and it is important to remember that your organization’s fundraising time and resources should be allocated accordingly.

Fundraising Tools on the Internet |
|
The web can be an excellent tool for fundraising. A web page, for example, gives your organization added visibility and accessibility (especially valuable if you don’t have a facility), and is an excellent marketing tool. But a caution on the amount of effort devoted to internet fundraising: while it is important to get in on the ground level with internet funding, don’t allocate a huge amount of your time and resources to it.
